PADI Discover Scuba Diving
If you want to find out what it is like to breathe underwater but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving will let you try diving to see if you like it. In this introductory program you will receive a brief basic instruction followed by a short shallow water practice session. Then, you are ready for your first open water dive alongside your instructor. If you enjoy it (and you undoubtably will!), you can do even more supervised dives with us, or continue on to Open Water Diver or Scuba Diver courses.

PADI Scuba Diver Limited Certification
Short on time and long on the urge to become a certified diver? Then the PADI Scuba Diver certification might just be for you. This certification allows for ample dive experience and is a good warm-up for the Open Water Diver course, if that’s your goal. PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:
- Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet
- Rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in other diving activities as long as they have the required supervision
- Continue their dive training and complete PADI Open Water Diver certification and other courses such as Project AWARE and equipment specialty courses

Divemaster Course – your first step towards dive professional
Love scuba diving? Want to share it with others on a whole new level? Take the PADI Divemaster course and do what you love to do as a career. Scuba divers look up to Divemasters because they are leaders who mentor and motivate others. As a divemaster, you not only get to dive a lot, but also experience the joy of seeing others have as much fun diving as you do.
The PADI Divemaster course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover, and refine your rescue skills so you anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere.
As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. Whether you want to work at a faraway dive destination or close to home at a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you. PADI Divemasters are respected dive professionals who are aligned with the largest and most respected dive organization in the world – PADI.
Requisites to start:
- 18 years
- 40 logged dives
- Medical Statement signed by a physician (within the last 12 months)
- First Aid CPR, primary and secondary care (Emergency First Response or equivalent)
- PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
The PADI Divemaster course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, waterskills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. The theory part can be at home signing up for PADI e-learning or with SCUBA COIBA in Santa Catalina.

The Divemaster Training with Scuba Coiba might change your life and prepare you to your first step into a professional career in the activity you love. If you want to get a better experience and resulting better job chances and also spending some time in chilled out Santa Catalina, doing maybe also some surfing, you should go fo this option.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor – First Instructor Development Course (IDC) held partially in Santa Catalina Coiba.
The course will be held partially in Panama City (theory and pool), Carribean Sea and Coiba (Pacific). Dive both seas while completing your dream!

To ensure that you can concentrate fully on your IDC, your Course Director Patrick Arendt and its Course Staff provide dedicated Instructor Training in English, German, French, Luxemburgish and Spanish language support as well.
During the first two days IDC Pre-study, staff instructors will guide you through your reading assignments and help you understand PADI standards, educational philosophy, training suggestions and other background information.
You’ll also be completing the new PADI Divemaster exam including Physics, Physiology, Skills &
Environment, Equipment and the RDP. The dive theory is usually the most common improvement area for IDC candidates.
You’ll receive valuable feedback on any missed question you may have. In the pool you’ll practice the24 skills from the IDC Skill Circuit and the Rescue Diver Course exercise #7 from the Instructor Examination (IE).
Your IDC has an IE pass guarantee: We will invite you to do a second IDC with us for free, including in the very unlikely event that you don’t pass the IE. Our pass guarantee includes any IE segment covered by PADI’s IDC Curriculum.
