Scuba Coiba is a licensed PADI 5 Star Resort led by a team of Master Scuba Diver Trainers.
From first trial dives through to professional level Divemaster certification, we’re here to help you level up while you explore the deep.
For courses with theory, we offer e-learning options that can be completed in advance, at home, at your own speed. You will not lose valuable holiday time, and can get straight into the water with us.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVES
$170 per person
No dive certification? No problem! Our experienced team can show you everything you need to know to safely visit our world beneath the waves.
What to expect:
- Trip duration: Approximately 7 hours (8:00 am – 3:00pm)
- Before getting on the boat we’ll set you up with all equipment, including wetsuit, mask and fins.
- Dive sites take can take about an hour to reach from Santa Catalina.
- Our qualified instructor will take you through essential skills in shallow water from a beach before a trial dive.
- Second dive is a “real” fun dive for about 40 to 45 minutes (air consumption allowing)
- Maximum dive depth of 12 meters / 40 feet.
Gear rental, including snorkel.
Lunch, seasonal fruit, snacks and water are included in between dives.
Coiba National Park entrance:

PADI OPEN WATER
$430 per person
This is the key to unlock a lifetime filled with dive adventures, anywhere in the world. Earn your diving certification with a PADI Open Water Diver course – the most popular international scuba-training course.
This course includes four open water dives and takes three days to complete.
Part 1: Knowledge Development (E-learning available)
Covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment.
Part 2: Confined Water Dives
During the Confined Water Dives, you learn and practice Scuba skills in pool-like conditions. Starting with some mini-dives, we take you through everything you need to know, step-by-step.
Part 3: Open Water Dives
To complete your training, practice, apply and demonstrate everything you’ve learnt during four Open Water Dives to a maximum depth of 18 meters.
What to expect:
- Day duration: Approximately seven hours (8:00 am – 3:00pm)
- Maximum dive depth of 18 meters / 60 feet.
- One day of theory (can be completed at home before or after your dives with e-learning)
- Five confined water dives

PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER
$420 per person
Improve your underwater knowledge, confidence and skills, go deeper, and discover different adventure diving specializations.
This course includes five open water dives and takes two days to complete.
Two Compulsory dives:
- Deep diving (down to 30m / 100ft)
- Underwater Navigation
Three adventure dives – you choose from:
- Underwater naturalist
- Drift diving
- Underwater navigation
- Fish identification
- Peak performance buoyancy
Adventure dives can also be used as a credit of the first dive of Specialty certifications.

DIVEMASTER
Hone your skills to dive like a pro, or kickstart your career doing what you love with the PADI Divemaster Certification.
Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you’ll learn the concepts, skills and knowledge necessary to join the ranks of diving professionals. As a PADI Divemaster, you’ll lead and supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training.
PADI Divemasters are respected dive professionals who are aligned with the largest and most respected dive organization in the world – PADI.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- 40 logged dives
- Medical Statement signed by a physician (within the last 12 months)
- First Aid CPR, primary and secondary care (Emergency First Response or equivalent)
- PADI Rescue Diver qualification (or equivalent)
