Did you know that Coiba National Park in Panama is a corner stone of the Tropical East Pacific Corridor – also known as THE SHARK TRIANGLE?
Coiba forms together with Galapagos, Cocos Island, Malpelo and Gorgona a vast protected area,which is known for its rich bio-diversity and an important re-production zone for migrating marine animals and one of the world’s sharkiest marine environment. Get to know our sharks, some of them you can see on every single dive, some you cn see at certein times and or around certein dive areas.
Diving in Panama is a dream for many divers, and the diving in Coiba National Park is beyond words. The most impressive part of this region is that there is still so much more to discover! Only a few divers know, that Coiba is one of the pillars of the Tropical Eastern Pacific Corridor, formed by Galapagos, Cocos islands, Malpelo, Gorgona and Coiba – also known as The Shark Triangle.
The park’s impressive list of marine life includes green moray eels, groupers, barracuda and dolphins, humpback whales, sea turtles colorful reef fish and huge schools of silvery hunters (jacks, trevallies, snappers…) nut the stars are – right – SHARKS.
You’ll never forget your first glimpse of the Coiba Island sharks. The water can be dark and the light soft, but it doesn’t take long to see why this place is called Shark Heaven. Most divers will encounter a shark on every dive, so don’t expect to be disappointed.
